Seal Watching Tour

When: Winter months (December through April)

Join a non-narrated tour to observe harbor and gray seals up close as they rest on the breakwater walls of Delaware Bay. During peak season, colonies of 50-100+ seals can be seen, with some even giving birth locally. Along the way, enjoy sightings of winter birds.

Bring binoculars and your camera to capture these winter visitors. Tours depend on weather conditions; rescheduling or refunds are offered for cancellations. For a narrated experience, select the “Seal Watching with MERR Institute” option.

The Met Opera: Live in HD 2024-2025 Season Opens at Cinema Art Theater

Revelries and Revolutionaries: A Black History Month Concert

Coastal Concerts Presents Cuarteto Latinoamericano – Mexico: A Musical Journey

Cuarteto Latinoamericano, one of the world’s most renowned string quartets, invites you to embark on a musical journey through Mexico. Known for their commitment to Latin American music, the quartet has been performing internationally for over forty years and has premiered more than 100 works. With numerous prestigious awards, including two Latin Grammys and a Diapason d’Or, this concert promises to deliver a performance of exceptional quality.

Founded in Mexico in 1982, the Cuarteto Latinoamericano’s members include violinists Saul and Aron Bitrán, cellist Alvaro Bitrán, and violist Javier Montiel. Their extensive catalog includes over 100 CDs, highlighting the rich Latin American string quartet repertoire.

Faux Calligraphy Workshop

Join Katy, the owner of Lewes Lettering Co., for a fun and informative session where you’ll learn the basics of Faux Calligraphy! These workshops last 1.5 to 2 hours and cover how to use various pens and markers to create writing that mimics traditional calligraphy. All supplies are included and provided upon arrival, and light snacks will be available. Feel free to bring your own beverages (BYOB).

Race4Warriors: Supporting Wounded Warriors and Homeless Veterans


Date: May 9–10, 2025
Location: Delaware State Park & Beach, Lewes, DE

Join us for a historic event along the scenic coastline of Delaware, our First State, as we honor our wounded warriors and homeless veterans. Participants will race through the state park and along the beach, simulating the challenges of marching on the desert sands of the Middle East. Choose between a 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon Challenge, with options to run, race-walk, or carry a heavy pack (15lb).

  • Friday, May 9:
    • Packet Pickup: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at American Legion, Post 17, Lewes.
    • Live Entertainment: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Enjoy great food, drinks, and music.
  • Saturday, May 10:
    • Same-day packet pickup begins at 7:00 AM at the starting line.
    • 8:00 AM: Opening Ceremony.
    • 8:15 AM: Half Marathon Launch.
    • 8:45 AM: 5k Launch.
    • 9:30 AM: 10k Launch.
    • 10:00 AM: Live Music begins.

This event is a celebration of Competition, Education, and Celebration. Race through Delaware’s parks and beaches, competing at your level while honoring the sacrifices made by our men and women in the Middle East. Volunteers from local schools and military personnel will help present a Middle East Historical Exhibit, offering an educational walk through history to connect our community with the military.

After the race, stay for the Celebration 4 Warriors with local vendors, food, and live music from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Enjoy the festivities, meet military members and civilians, and connect with fellow race participants.

  • The first 500 participants will receive a commemorative race medallion at the finish line.

Coastal Concerts presents BOYD MEETS GIRL

Boyd Meets Girl is the collaboration between Australian classical guitarist Rupert Boyd and American cellist Laura Metcalf. This dynamic duo has toured globally, performing an eclectic mix of music ranging from Debussy and Bach to Radiohead and Beyoncé. Their two studio albums have amassed over 4 million streams on Spotify alone.

The duo arranges much of their repertoire themselves, drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical genres. During their performances, they engage the audience with conversational insights about the works, creating a concert experience that breaks down boundaries between the music, the musicians, and the listeners.

Annual Wine, Cheese & Beer Tasting at Cape Henlopen State Park

Join us for a delightful afternoon of wine, beer, and cheese tasting at the beautiful Cape Henlopen State Park! This annual event, sponsored by Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park and R & L Liquors, will feature craft beers, wines from selected distributors, and cheeses from local vendors.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Cape Henlopen State Park Office (10 AM – 4 PM), the Lewes Chamber of Commerce (weekdays, 10 AM – 4 PM), or R & L Liquors on 2nd Street (9 AM – 10 PM). Advance ticket purchase includes park entry.
