Fishin’ Kids: A Free, Family-Friendly Fishing Day at Lewes Canalfront Park
A Day of Fishing, Fun, and Learning at the Lewes Canal
Looking for a fun and educational way to introduce your kids to the joys of fishing? Head over to Lewes Canalfront Park on Wednesday, June 19, for Fishin’ Kids, a free, hands-on event from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM designed just for children ages 5 to 13.
This exciting two-hour experience will teach kids the basics of fishing in a safe and engaging environment—right on the public docks of the Lewes Canal.
🐟 What to Expect at Fishin’ Kids
Your young anglers will enjoy:

Fishing Fundamentals: Learn how to bait a hook, cast a line, and gently retrieve a fish.

Supervised Dock Fishing: Kids will fish from the city docks under guidance.

Fishing Etiquette & Safety: Understand respect for the water and fellow anglers.

Casting Contest: Show off casting accuracy on the grassy lawn of Canalfront Park.

Life Jacket Demo: Learn how life jackets keep you safe during water adventures.
