Bobcat Spotted in Delaware – Caught on Camera!
Believe it or not, a bobcat was recently captured on a Ring doorbell camera right here in Delaware — and it’s causing quite a stir.
Though Delaware is not officially home to any established bobcat colonies, locals have been sounding the alarm for years. Hunters, hikers, and trappers have long suspected these elusive cats were making quiet appearances — and now, there’s video proof.
Bobcats have expanded their range to nearly every state, and while Delaware remains off the official map, these wild predators aren’t shy about crossing state lines. They often wander in from neighboring areas, driven by hunger and instinct, and sometimes end up far closer to homes than expected.
These stealthy, sharp-toothed animals may resemble oversized house cats, but don’t be fooled — they are powerful predators and can pose a serious threat to pets and small livestock.
⚠️ Stay Alert if You Live Near Wooded or Rural Areas:
-
Keep pets indoors, especially after dark
-
Supervise dogs during walks or yard time
-
Don’t leave pet food or food scraps outside
-
Close off garages, crawl spaces, and sheds
-
Report any sightings to local wildlife authorities
More sightings — from trail cams to Ring cameras — are surfacing, making one thing clear: bobcats are visiting Delaware, and they’re creeping closer to home.
