Support the Local Arts: Donate to the Milton Theatre’s New Education Wing
The Milton Theatre, a historic gem in downtown Milton, Delaware, is embarking on an exciting new chapter with the construction of a state-of-the-art Education Wing. This transformative project aims to expand the theatre’s educational offerings, providing more opportunities for aspiring artists, young talents, and art enthusiasts of all ages.
Building the Future of Arts Education
Starting in Winter 2024, the Milton Theatre will begin construction on its new Education Wing, with a target completion date of Winter 2025. This addition will feature modern classrooms and rehearsal spaces designed to empower individuals to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. The theatre’s goal is to raise $3 million to bring this vision to life.
A Rich History and a Bright Future
The Milton Theatre, originally built around 1910, has a storied past. It has served as a movie theatre, basketball hall, fire station, social center, and community stage, surviving three major fires and countless nor’easters. After decades of neglect, it now stands as a beacon of artistic culture on the Delmarva Peninsula.
Reopened five years ago, the theatre has revitalized the local arts and entertainment scene, hosting over 320 events annually. It has become a beloved venue for all ages, thanks to the unwavering support of patrons and the community.
Join the Milton Theatre Renaissance Initiative
As the theatre approaches its sixth anniversary, it is launching “The Milton Theatre Renaissance Initiative,” a $2.5 million capital campaign aimed at enhancing the venue’s structure and ensuring its legacy for future generations. This campaign will bring significant changes over the next 3-5 years, cementing the Milton Theatre’s status as a premier arts and entertainment venue.
