Nestled within the scenic 376-acre Milford Millponds Nature Preserve, Abbott’s Mill Nature Center invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. As you hike through lush deciduous and Atlantic White Cedar woodlands, you’ll discover a variety of trails, including a handicap-accessible boardwalk that leads to open meadows and a serene picnic area.

Though tours of the historic gristmill are temporarily on hold, you can still appreciate the rich history of the area while enjoying the picturesque views of the 20-acre pond that powers the mill. The Visitor Center enhances your experience with live animal exhibits and taxidermy displays, allowing you to connect with the local wildlife up close.

For those looking to engage in outdoor activities, Abbott’s Pond offers public access for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, with a boat ramp for easy entry. Remember to obtain a fishing permit if you’re aged 16-64, as fishing is regulated by DE Fish and Wildlife.
