The Sussex County Beach Management Program is planning replacement projects for the beaches in Sussex County in the next two years.

The beaches in Sussex County and Delaware are vital to the tourism industry. To ensure that all visitors have a safe, enjoyable and environmentally sound experience, Lewes Marine Supply is working with the Towns of Lewes and Georgetown to develop a Beach Renourishment Project

The following projects will be coming to Sussex County beaches as part of the replenishment program. The North Jetty and surrounding area (including all boat docks, walkways and surfing areas) would be closed to vehicular traffic beginning on Monday, June 11th.

Special attention is being paid to bolstering the infrastructure at beaches in Sussex County, Delaware. The Department of Natural Resources& Environmental Control’s (DNREC) Division of Beaches and Coastal Management recently awarded $250,000 in FY2018-19 funding for coastal infrastructure projects designed to reduce erosion and provide a buffer between the ocean and land.
