SURF LESSONS
At Dewey Beach Surf Shop, we offer surf lessons on the best beginner waves in Delaware! We specialize in teaching all riding levels- from first timers to more advanced surfers. Our experienced instructor surfs in the area and can offer unparalleled local surf knowledge. Students will learn basic surfing fundamentals, as well as ocean awareness, water safety, wave riding skills, and surf etiquette.
Surf lessons are $90 per person for a 75 minute session. Our surf lessons are conducted at the north side of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, a few miles away from our shop. Parking costs $5 for in state and $10 for out of state tags. The area offers many amenities that you can enjoy before or after your lesson, including bathrooms and restaurants. All lessons are conducted on 9ft soft top surf boards provided by Dewey Beach Surf Shop.
SKIM LESSONS
Our skimboarding lessons are conducted in Dewey Beach right in front of our shop. Skim lessons are $70 per person for a 75 minute session. We provide skimboards but feel free to bring your own. Skim lessons are typically only offered in the evenings, as they cannot be conducted when lifeguards are on the beach. Parking for ONE vehicle is available for free in front of Dewey Beach Surf Shop for the duration of the lesson.
Please be aware that all lessons are scheduled around the waves and weather conditions. Because of this, we do not schedule lessons more than (approximately) one week in advance. The best way to get on our schedule is to reach out during the week of your availability!
