Every year, the Sport Fishing Tournament is held, sponsored by the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife to foster recreational fishing in Delaware. Age doesn’t matter much as both youth and adults are praised for prominent catches.

Sounds like fun, right? But how much does it cost to join? Well, that’s the fun part – absolutely nothing (well, nothing monetary, anyway) just your presence and your equipment. As for when you can join? Every day of the year, from the 1st of January to the 31st of December, you can join and try your luck at landing the big one. 

Those who receive citations for five different species within one calendar year (January to December of that year) are given a special plaque and recognized as Delaware Elite Anglers.
